Course Goals: 1. Students will experiment with digital camera controls as they relate to managing exposure, subject motion and depth of field. 2. Students will be introduced to industry-standard digital workflow and file/library management best practices. 3. Students will be introduced to a range of career options in fine art, advertising and editorial photography. 4. Students will learn the foundations of visual literacy and work through the process of creative problem solving and photographic communication. Learning Outcomes: 1. Students will successfully manage exposure, subject motion and depth of field in the creation of photographs. 2. Students will execute industry-standard best practices in digital postproduction and file/library management. 3. Students will accurately utilize appropriate, discipline-specific vocabulary in discussing their work and the work of classmates. 4. Students will creatively translate concept to photographic image and vice versa. 5. Students will articulate a variety of potential career paths in fine art, advertising and editorial photography.
